Comprehensive Trademark Risk Report

- Goods and services overlap analysis
- Written risk reasons and filing recommendations
What is different about trademark filing in Macau?
Macau has its own trademark register. A registration in Mainland China or Hong Kong does not automatically protect the same mark in Macau.
One class per application
DSEDT requires a separate application for each class. Our additional-class price covers another class application for the same mark.
Documents for overseas applicants
Applicants without a Macau residence or establishment file through an appointed agent. The agent needs a duly authenticated power of attorney; translation, authentication or courier work is confirmed separately when required.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to register a trademark in Macau?
Our standard price is US$450 for the first class and US$445 for each additional class of the same mark. Macau requires a separate application for each class. You pay once for the classes selected before filing.
Are official fees included, or will I pay them separately?
Yes. Each class price includes its standard official Macau application fee and local filing service. No additional standard official fee is charged for that class. Optional or non-standard services are quoted before work begins.
Is the standard payment refunded if the application is refused?
No. If the application is ultimately not approved, the paid standard service price is not refunded. Registration decisions are made by the Macau authority and cannot be guaranteed.
Is the preliminary search opinion free?
Yes. A SologoTM advisor screens the information you provide and usually sends an initial opinion within 2 business days. No card is required and there is no obligation to file.
What does a deeper trademark risk report cost?
If useful, your advisor may recommend a US$100 Comprehensive Trademark Risk Report prepared by a local Macau attorney. It is optional, billed separately and begins only with your approval.
Does a Mainland China or Hong Kong trademark protect me in Macau?
No. Macau has a separate trademark register. A registration in Mainland China or Hong Kong does not automatically extend to Macau; the right filing markets depend on where you need protection.
Why is each additional class a separate application?
Macau requires each trademark application form to cover one mark and goods or services in one class. We coordinate the additional application at the additional-class price shown on this page.
What does an overseas applicant need to file in Macau?
An applicant without a Macau residence or establishment files through an appointed agent. A duly authenticated power of attorney may be required. Translation, authentication and courier needs are checked and quoted before that work starts.
How long does Macau trademark registration take?
DSEDT says registration can be granted about six months from publication of the application if the documents are in order and there is no opposition or ground for refusal. This is not six months from filing, and individual cases can take longer.
Can someone oppose the application?
Yes. A third party can oppose within two months after the application is published. An opposition response is outside the standard filing scope and is quoted separately before work starts.
How long does a Macau trademark registration last?
A Macau registration lasts seven years from grant and may be renewed. Renewal is outside the initial filing price.
What if the initial opinion raises concerns about my mark?
We explain the initial concerns and can discuss name or design changes before choosing what to file. Further attorney review or design work is scoped and quoted separately.
